Yesterday I watched four films, all four of them where different themes, different genres, stories, cast, locations and I enjoyed them all in different ways.
The four films where the following;
1. The Internship (2013) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2234155/?ref_=nv_sr_1
“Two salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital age find their way into a coveted internship at Google, where they must compete with a group of young, tech-savvy geniuses for a shot at employment.”
I have defnatly looked forward to this film coming onto sky because it looked hilarious has great people in it including Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn and is a really good feel good film perfect as an easy watch. It makes you cry but emotional at times, would recommend and watch again!!
2. World War Z (2013) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0816711/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
“United Nations employee Gerry Lane traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to destroy humanity itself.”
This has been out a while and I have been wanting to get the chance to watch it, when I finally had time… I was gripped every second of the way, it was brilliant. Everything you could want in a film, brilliant cast, gripping, emotional, interesting – I just loved it and it was really cleverly done. The whole concept was just fantastic and I would so go watch this over and over again, even after I finished this I was still talking about it hours after = something that has made an impression.
3. White House Down (2013) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2334879/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
“While on a tour of the White House with his young daughter, a Capitol policeman springs into action to save his child and protect the president from a heavily armed group of paramilitary invaders.”
There was two films that came out round about the same time, very similar & this was one of them. With a brilliant cast, awesome effects & has that sort of tongue and cheek humour whilst all the action and chaos was going on around it made an all round good film.
4. Life of a King (2013) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2708254/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
“Ex-felon, Eugene Brown, establishes a Chess Club for inner city teenagers in Washington, D.C.”
This film has been on my list since forever, inspired by true events which make it all so much more real. It was a brilliant film, really humbling and times. It was exactly what I wanted and expected it to be even more actually.
& some extras
– The world’s End (2013) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1213663/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
“Five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier unwittingly become humankind’s only hope for survival.”
I decided to watch this with my sister, a couple of Saturdays ago & of course it has a brilliant line up; Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Rosamund Pike, Pierce Brosnan, David Bradley, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan – just to name a few. I didn’t know what to expect with this film, I have loved the last couple of films that’s some of them have been in and this did not disappoint with the fun and funny factor but the story line was slightly bazaar but it was still a good watch.
– The Lifeguard (2013) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2265534/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
“A former valedictorian quits her reporter job in New York and returns to the place she last felt happy: her childhood home in Connecticut. She gets work as a lifeguard and starts a dangerous relationship with a troubled teenager.”
I saw this film’s trailer and was quite interested, not sure what to make of it. My mum recently watched it and loved it. She said it was great and so I watched and she was right, very indie style but perfect for a feel good bank holiday film.
I have loved all these films in different ways, they are all different and have great cast’s, would say go watch all of them or whatever you fancy.
