#71 Star Trek: Into the Darkness

‘After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction.’

Star Trek the television series has been on our screens for years including the first film in 1979 and then the television series which started in 1984. Star Trek has been in our lives since forever and it has followed us everywhere we go, I recently watched ‘Star Trek: Into the darkness’ the second instalment of the new Star Trek (I still haven’t watched the first film that came out in 2009, I did it a little bit backward), whist watching it my parents and family friends came into the room, where they sat down and finished watching the film with us. All the way through everyone talked through the old memories of the Star Trek series and the film, the characters and the stories. You see Star Trek follows you through your years, as we grow up there will always be something that we carry with us, that we used to watch depending on our age and for a lot of people including my parents, their friends, my boyfriend it was Star Trek.

When I finished watching Star Trek: into the darkness I just wanted to start it from the beginning again, I loved it. It is such a brilliant film, it looks beautiful on-screen, cleverly done with all the spaceships, space backgrounds and the costumes, special effects, amazing make-up. This film is brilliant because of all these things especially with the talented director J.J. Abrams and the truly talented cast including Chris Pine who plays Kirk, Zoe Saldana who plays Uhura, Simon Pegg who plays Scotty, Zachary Quinto who plays Spock, Karl Uban who plays Bones, Benedict Cumberbatch who plays Khan, John Cho who plays Sulu, Anton Yeichin who plays Chekov, Bruce Greenwood who plays Pike, Peter Weller who plays Marcus, Alice Eve who plays Carol and Noel Clarke who plays Thomas Harewood just to name half of the cast (just a few), which you have to admit is a pretty talented cast right there and what makes it even more great is how much they look and act like the originals, which is what makes Star Trek so fantastic and it carries on being so fantastic!

I cannot wait to watch the first film of Star Trek because Star Trek: Into the darkness was so good, was such a good story, it was so much more than I thought it would be as a film and I am so glad I watched it and you should too because this film was directed by a J.J. Abrams and acted by a talented cast, this film is pretty great, you should go watch it some time.
